Mr. Grenell Demands Accountability from Alfred Lela over Hashtag.al’s Article

Richard Grenell has denied the report published yesterday by Hashtag.al, which claimed he had a close collaboration with Prime Minister Rama.

In a response posted on the platform X, Grenell — for reasons known only to him — referred to Alfred Lela’s portal, Politico.al, even though this portal had merely republished the article correctly, with proper citation, and holds no editorial responsibility for the content.

Hashtag.al can confirm that yesterday’s article was sent to Mr. Grenell, with a direct link to Hashtag.al, by at least two separate sources.

The reasons why Mr. Grenell chose to implicate Mr. Lela are known only to him. However, Hashtag.al fully assumes editorial responsibility for its own article and, in line with its professional duty, is publishing Mr. Grenell’s full response below.

Richard Grenell’s post:

“Dear @AlfredLela,

I understand that you are just days away from an important election. I understand that emotions are running high. I have been silently following your elections from a distance because Albania is an important and trusted NATO ally for America (and one of my favorite countries to visit and vacation).

But this report from your media outlet is A COMPLETE LIE.

It must be corrected immediately and removed if you are at all interested in the facts.”
